To suggest that our services always follow a particular style of worship or music at KMC would be to oversimplify the diversity of our congregation’s gifts and expressions. In general however:

Traditional Worship Service - 9am

The 9 a.m. service follows a traditional worship format. Pre-service music usually begins at 8:50 and features the organ, piano, or other instrument. A day’s worship leader welcomes the worship leaders and open with prayer. The song leader for the day leads congregational singing, which can be a hymn or a more contemporary song. Sometimes we sing a cappella; other times we sing with organ, piano or worship team accompaniment. Our offering time is accompanied by music, often from a special soloist or ensemble. Children are sometimes invited forward for a special lesson. One of our pastors leads the congregation in prayer for the needs of our church, our missionaries and our world, then shares a message/sermon. The congregation then responds in song. Sunday School begins ten minutes after this service dismisses. Our toddler nursery (1-3 years) is staffed during this service.

Contemporary Service - 11:15am

The 11:15 service is also called our contemporary service.  It opens with singing, usually led by a worship team using drums, guitars, keyboard and other instruments. This is followed by announcements and other sharing. Children are sometimes invited forward for a special lesson. One of our pastors shares a message/sermon, usually the same shared in the 9:00 service. We conclude with more singing. Children are sometimes invited to join the worship team with bells and tambourines during the concluding songs.

Children of all ages are welcome in both services.

Kidron Mennonite has been blessed in both services with many creative worship leaders, actors who do occasional dramas, and musicians who provide a wide variety of musical experiences for worshippers.
